Uniting for Change: A Call to Action for Psoriasis Care in Malaysia

We are grateful to have been part of the Clinical Practical Guide review, organized by the Ministry of Health. This initiative plays a critical role in ensuring that healthcare practices are regularly updated to reflect the latest research and advancements in treatment. Periodic reviews are essential for improving patient outcomes and providing the best possible care, particularly for chronic conditions like psoriasis. Special thanks to our representative, Dom Wong, from the Psoriasis Association of Malaysia, for his active participation and contribution to this important effort.

Thanks Psoriasis Association Of Malaysia for the opportunity. I have thanked all the doctors who are looking out for patients. Our doctor's dedication is admirable and we owe them a lot of gratitude. Doctors have also realised that they need more help to help patients. We all recognise that the Malaysian government via MOF and MOH needs a dedicated budget towards Psoriasis and other autoimmune illnesses for targeted therapies. I sincerely hope we can come together as a community to get the government to dedicate more funds. We have asked for RM 20 million which is only 0.0442% of the 2025 health budget. Malaysians with psoriasis need more government funding. Targeted therapies like biologics and small molecules are very effective medicines for Psoriasis patients. The issue is that they are expensive and out of reach for many Malaysians. Patients must start seeking out stakeholders in the government and request for more funding especially to help with the serious patient cases! Other countries have done it, Malaysia needs to start too ✌️we have yet to achieve our request and must soldier on.
